Ringer – That’s What You Get For Trying to Kill Me – Siobhan in New York

That’s right.  Siobhan showed up at the end of the episode in New York.  After trying to convince Tyler in Paris that she had to fly back to New York to see Andrew (even though it was really Bridget that he met while on his business date with Andrew and Olivia), she tried to convince Charlie not to kill her supposed best friend, Gemma.  She has no qualms about keeping Gemma locked up and quiet about who knows what (possibly the fact that Gemma found out about Bridget – but how would Siobhan or Charlie know about that?).  However, she does mind killing her.  She tells Charlie not to do it, but lo and behold, the man she hired to attack and keep Gemma quiet has his own motives.  Who would’ve guessed?

Charlie basically tries to extort money out of both Siobhan and Bridget in exchange for keeping Gemma safe.  In the end, though, after we think he has finally done away with Gemma, we find that she’s still alive.  After less than a minute of seeing her surviving, he kills her, only to have himself killed by Siobhan and the gun planted on him for good measure.  She sure is getting in deep, but she obviously has some sort of motive.  Otherwise, there wouldn’t be a show, would there?

It was good to see some resolution to certain storylines, while others took drastic leaps into the unknown.  I’m glad that Machado was able to find out that the guy he has been working with is actually Bodaway Macawi’s informant on the inside.

I thought it was unwise of Machado to go with the guy to an abandoned warehouse, but I figured he trusts him, so what the heck.  The joke was on me, though, when the guy got cornered by some other agents that Machado had trailing them.  Now we just have to find out how this supposed officer of the law fits in with the whole storyline.  He works for Macawi, he supposedly worked with Charlie to get Bridget to come to New York to see Siobhan.  So, what’s his motive and who does he really work for?

I also liked seeing Charlie finally get caught in all his lies by Bridget and Malcolm.  I was happy to see the cops show up at his apartment, but I found it terribly stupid that they didn’t check the phone for his prints until after they went to his apartment.  By the time they realized that Gemma’s phone was full of his fingerprints, Gemma was already a goner.

The long-awaited intimacy between Bridget and Andrew happened in this episode as well.  I wondered why he didn’t realize that she possibly seemed different in bed with him than Siobhan ever had.  Maybe he realizes she’s changed and has become different in that way too, possibly?  You’d think she’d have some sort of distinguishing mark, though, on her body that Andrew would wonder where it disappeared to since Bridget doesn’t have it.  There has to be something that would tip him off that something is different about her, but maybe he just isn’t looking hard enough because he’s so happy to have his wife and his life back in some sort of order.

Some storylines, on the other hand, were thrown into high gear.  Juliet’s crush on her former teacher, Mr. Carpenter, is bordering on obsessive.  The fact that she is now claiming that they had sex, but against her will, makes me wonder just where the truth lies.  It reminds me of the Naomi Clark/Mr. Cannon storyline on 90210.  Naomi lied at first about Mr. Cannon saying she had to have sex with him in order to stay on the school newspaper, but when she revealed the truth, and then he really raped her, no one believed her.  Juliet did look like she was crying over this, but maybe she wanted to look that way to her friend (that’s right, she made a friend at her new school finally!).  If she is lying, I don’t know what her angle is yet.  If she isn’t lying, I sure didn’t see that one coming!

Siobhan’s return to New York will certainly spice things up.  I can’t imagine what will happen if paths cross or someone realizes she’s back.  What will become of Bridget and her lies?  She can’t get completely thrown out of their world because she has too many ties to it now, but I don’t know what to expect.  In some ways, that makes me happy because I like being kept on the edge of my seat, but in other ways, I really want to know what’s going to happen.  I’m eager to find out more.  Especially because Siobhan is making Tyler (the guy from Paris) believe that the baby she is carrying is his.

I think that Sarah Michelle Gellar is doing a stellar job playing two different characters.  She is absolutely believable as both Bridget and Siobhan, and I love watching the way she tries to play different situations out in order to keep her stories straight on both ends.

Do you think Mr. Carpenter really raped Juliet?  Will Siobhan and Bridget see each other sooner than later?  How long before Olivia reveals the picture of Henry and Siobhan together to Andrew?  What ever happened to the loft project that Gemma was working on for Siobhan and Andrew?  How about the guy that moved the body that Bridget shot and killed in the loft?  So many questions, and so long to wait until the next episode!  Share your thoughts and let us know what you think is coming next.
